B is for book

This post was brought to you today by the letter B!
Well 2 letters down and 24 more to go!

Wildflower oil painting

Well here's the wildflower painting so far.  It's a lot of fun working with oil paints again! It really has been a while since I have painted with oils. It's nice to do something different than what I have been doing lately. And I'm so very happy with how it's turning out!

Cinderella doodle

I love my new stylus for my iPhone! I can doodle anywhere without having to take a bulky sketch pad along. Well here's what I drew tonight :).... Loves!

Sketch book

It feels so good when I finally get back to being able to draw again! Well this is what I spent my whole day doing, well in my free time. I think I might take some of these and color them- we'll see.

Shoe Art

Here are the pictures for the shoe art I have done so far...

This first pair are the shoes that I did for my sister. One shoe has Disney characters and one has Pixar characters.

 Both shoes together :)

The Pixar shoe....

 The Disney shoe...

And here are the front of the shoes...

The second pair I have done was for my daughter, Miss P, I did all of her favorite characters from the TV shows and movies she likes to watch. And I was so excited when I found a pair of canvas shoes that could fit her at Payless!

Here are both shoes together...

Left shoe....

Right shoe....

And the front of the shoes...

And the third pair is pictured in another post, click here to see them. And if you want a pair the pricing is also in the post mentioned.
Well there you go.
I do not claim any of the characters I used, on the shoe pictured above, as mine. They come from Disney, Pixar, Dreamworks, Cut the rope (Omnom), and the children's book Gossie

A little about Paisley Lane Design

Well today was just one of those days, I call it a bad drawing day. It happens sometimes but it is so frustrating when it does!
Anyways so I have decided to just post a little about what it is Paisley Lane Design can do for you.
And here we go...
Here is a fish mural I did for a friend in their nursery.
The image was taken from a fabric that she had wanted to incorporate somehow. She also wanted me to make it look like it had been stitched on the wall which I think made it that much more amazing!

It was pretty big and it took me about a week. So that is one thing I can (and love to do) for you! And for pricing I like to talk that over, it all depends on size and what it is you want painted.

Next, I have done 3 pairs of shoes now. The first pair I did had Disney and Pixar characters on them (pictures coming), the second pair I did had all the things my daughter likes, and the last pair has the girls that I usually draw. Here's some pictures of that third pair.

If you want your own pair you can either provide the shoes (Walmart for 5$) or I could get them and it will be added to the final price. The price, if you buy the shoes yourself, would be $30.00 (plus shipping if needs be) and if you want me to purchase the shoes just add 5 dollars to that. And the shoes pictured above are the ones you can buy at Walmart.

I can also do commissioned pieces. This just means you come to me with an idea and I create it for you.
This one I did for my mom. She wanted something to give out to some of her friends, she came to me with an idea of a girl holding herbs and this is how it turned out. She has now asked for all of the seasons just like this, but that's still in the works.
And this one is a work in progress. I'm doing this for an old roommates mom. It is an oil painting on a 30x40" canvas and it will be a field of wild flowers. More pictures to come as I work on it some more.
For any kind of commission piece we will work out a price, again depending on what you want.

Well there you go, just a little about what it is I do.
If there are any questions please email me at hollilutes@gmail.com or leave a comment
(I checked both regularly).
I am also going to be posting stuff on Etsy soon (I finally found a good printer) so stay tuned!

Utah Foster Care Chalk Art Festival

Well I have just finished my first year and can I just say it was so much fun! Yes I am very VERY sore all over, but it was worth it in the end (and it was for a great cause!). It was amazing how many people were there.  I got some great comments, and my piece was a big hit with the kids.
Let me just say though it was not all smooth sailing, when I started Friday afternoon I was a nervous mess. When I had checked in and found my spot I saw who I was next to, one of the features artists (he had been asked to be there) and his piece was already amazing which only added to my nerves. I was shaking all over and I must have started over my piece 5 or 6 times. And each time I started over I felt myself getting closer to a breakdown. My mom had to finally just tell me to just get it down and it will all work out (thanks mom). Well after I got it drawn, roughly, and started putting some color down I started to feel a little more relaxed. Thence husband Keith came and started to help me, and that was a major blessing because he calmed me down and he was able to help me get more done so I didn't have to stay super late or come super early.
Here's what it looked like Friday night when I called it a day. Thank you Keith for helping out!

And this is what it looked like after I had been working for a couple hours Saturday morning.
And here is the finished product! I was so excited by how it turned out!

It was a great experience, hard but good. I am sore and my pointer finger on my right hand feels like it has been filed down to the bone. But it has been great! Looking forward to next year!
